The Manners And Customs of Bible Times

For Christmas my brother-in-law, Dr Ralph Gower, presented my husband and I with a copy of his book, ‘The Manner and customs of Bible Times’, of which 175,000 copies have already been sold. Ralph tells us that it has been translated into about seven different languages.

It is well researched, and a handy companion when studying the Bible. The Biblical era was very different to our own and coloured the Biblical authors’ perception of God. Unless we have some understanding of those times it is not always easy for us to understand why they wrote as they did.
