For The Baby Who Has Everything!
I was reading an article about a wet wipe warmer! The ‘must have’ baby equipment seems to increase with each passing generation, but ‘a wet wipe warmer’, at £24.99, seems to be an accessory too far in my opinion! My grandsons do not seem to have suffered by having unwarmed wet wipes applied to their botties! I can just imagine the reaction of my daughters if they had to warm the wet wipes before changing nappies that needed immediate attention!
When my children were small I thought that going on a family outing was like packing for an expedition up the jungle as one needed to take so much stuff. Nowadays one small baby seems to require a removal van when going from A to B! The births of my grandsons have been spread over the last three years, and with each arrival a new gismo has been invented and added to the burgeoning nursery equipment. Grandchild number four is due next February, I wonder what extra ‘indispensable’ gadget will be needed. I do know though that it wont be a wet wipe warmer!
Two thousand years ago life was much simpler; the contents of a modern nursery would have been undreamed of. However I wonder if Mary, in a wistful moment, might have wished for less esoteric gifts for her new baby. A crib, baby clothes and whatever passed for nappies in those days, might have been of more immediate use!
