Good Old Fashioned Service

We often moan that one cannot get good service in shops anymore! In fact one large electrical retail chain is the butt of jokes as its customer care is so poor! The staff would appear to be pretty clueless when it comes to knowing anything about the store’s merchandise. However, my little tale will show that good customer service is alive and well at the Co-op in Eastbourne.

Last Saturday we purchased a couple of leather chairs and footstools. Although they came flat packed, the boxes were too big to go into our saloon car. We were resigned to waiting a week or so for them to be delivered. However, the salesman, Peter, said that his Volvo Estate car would take our chairs and stools without any difficulty, and he would be happy to bring them round after work. True to his word, he and a colleague, Nigel, duly manhandled the boxes up to our third floor apartment. We were most grateful and appreciative that these gentlemen should take the time to deliver our goods in their own time on a Saturday evening, when they no doubt had better things to do.

Thank you Peter and Nigel for good customer service, well above the call of duty!
