to happen? Where is the world heading? Did you ever wish you were born and
living in a different time period, within a different generation? Perhaps a
different region? In a different family with different friends? But did you
ever stop to think that you are here now for such a time as this?
For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance
will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house
will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a
time as this?" Esther 4:14
Readiness is always something that is of utmost important for our Armed
Forces. History shows that when we let our readiness fall, it is then that
we must fight wars. That time has come for Army of our Lord. Like the old
posters of Uncle Sam recruiting for the U.S. Army, God is pointing his
finger at you, saying, "I want you!"
More now than ever before, God is not only looking for a few good men and
women, but also for intelligent men and women. Not only is He after those
that hunger and thirst for His righteousness, but also those who hunger and
thirst for knowledge. We, as a people, need to arm and equip ourselves to
witness, to preach, to teach, to counsel, to minister as we never have
before. We cannot afford to let those in the secular community pass us by in
their depth of knowledge. Being a Christian and studying His Word is not an
excuse to stop learning, but rather a basis for increased learning and
study. Wonder what it is that God may want you to be doing? Go get
knowledge.
"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the
end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase." Daniel 12:4
Ours is a harvest of souls as we have never seen before. We need the
ammunition to counter the daggers that society will be sure to hurl at us.
We must take up a powerful shield to keep at bay the arguments that this
society is so willing to launch. There's no way we can do this without
knowing what we believe and demonstrating our validity by our knowledge and
experience.
Boldly forward, we must go. We must counter the presence of the prince of
this world. In these days, we are being forced to compromise and compromise
to the point that our faith, our beliefs are no longer of any substance,
whatsoever. Do we realize that it isn't we that come under attack, but the
Word by which we live? This is His battle - we are the soldiers.
"Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword
and spear; for the battle is the LORD'S, and He will give you into our
hands." I Samuel 17:47
Stand fast at your post. What can you do to make a difference for the cause?
Stay right where you are. Stay the course. Not everyone must be a preacher.
Imagine the impact on your community, your nation, your world if there were
more Christian doctors, lawyers, teachers, business men and women,
politicians, public servants, celebrities, scientists, writers, journalists,
servicemen and women, students, truckers, pilots, merchants, customers,
athletes, coaches, workers, managers, etc., etc., etc. Imagine the impact of
more Christian friends; of more Christian husbands, wives, parents. God is
looking to fill not only the church and Christian community, but all walks
of life with people that are willing to stand up for the cause of Christ.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
You may be wondering about how you can do that in the world in its present
state. The questions are numerous: But what about the end times? Are we
going to have to live through the tribulation? Is there really anything we
can do to win this world over for Christ if it appears that it already
belongs to Satan?
Yet, the answer is the same. We need not debate issues that He has already
answered for us. God's word is the same, no matter how people choose to
interpret it. He is the same yesterday, today, and always. Trust and obey -
it's the only way. Gone are the days where we can tolerate compromise. Don't
be ashamed of your God. Stand-up and be counted!
For we, as soldiers in His Army, have been commissioned. We have been called
according to His purpose to become fishers of men, regardless of technology,
regardless of culture, regardless of society. For ours is the victory - we
know that we are destined to win. Go forth and spread the Word, for the
world is ripe for harvest - it desperately needs you "for such a time as
this."
